Fulton, MO, 9/11/21 – On Patriot Day the Westminster College Blue Jays women's soccer team welcomed the Elmhurst College Blue Jays to Blue Jay Field at Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium. A scoreless first half saw the Westminster squad eying the second half to breakthrough in the scoring column. Unfortunately, it was the Blue Jays from Elmhurst College that would break through for three second half goals in route to a 3-0 non-conference win.
Westminster was outshot 15-6 over all and 10-3 in shots on goal. Elmhurst also had the advantage in corner kicks 4-0. Elmhurst was whistled for ten fouls on the day to Westminster's five.
Sophomore forward Rachel Nolte (Wentzville, MO / Holt) led Westminster with four shots and two shots on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Davidson (St. Louis, MO / Affton) went all 90 minutes facing ten shots making seven saves.
It will be a quicker than normal turnaround for the Blue Jays due to a recent schedule change that will see them on the road at SLIAC Conference rival Webster University on Tuesday September 14, 2021. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff at the St. Louis Soccer Park.
