Fayette, Mo. 1/21/2022 - The Westminster College men's' wrestling team was defeated by the Central Methodist University Eagles in a dual, 21-16. The Blue Jays won the first two matches then lost the next three.
Senior grappler Brock Davis (Columbia, Mo. / Rock Bridge) started things off in the 133-pound weight class, and won by major decision, 16-6.
Dalton Landreth (Marshall, MO / Marshall) followed and won by pinfall (1:23) in the 141-pound weight class.
Then freshman J.T. Roberts (St. Charles, MO / Francis Howell Central) took the mat and faced off against the Eagles's Dylan Washburn in the 149-pound weight class. Roberts lost by a narrow decision, 7-6
Then at the 157-pound weight class, Jackson Beene (Seneca, Il. / Seneca) lost by pinfall (2:06)
Will Harper (Plano, Tex. / Homeschooled) won by forfeit.
Chris Corley (Tipton, MO / Tipton) closed out the contest going down to a pinfall (2:06) in the 197-pound weight class.
The Westminster men's wrestling team next bout will be the Missouri Valley open on Saturday, February 5th.
