Fulton, Mo. – The Westminster Blue Jays women's volleyball team is off to a great start at 2-0 overall and 2-0 in SLIAC play. This great first week was capped off today with the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's announcement that Blue Jay libero Erica Schrader was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
Schrader, a junior libero from Imperial, Mo., helped lead the Blue Jays to a pair of wins on the weekend. She averaged 4.13 digs per set over the two matches, totaling 33 digs on the week. She had a high of 20 digs against Fontbonne. Schrader also added four assists and two aces during the week.
Schrader and the Blue Jays will look to continue their hot start this coming Wednesday when they will welcome the Greenville University Panthers to Historic Gym. The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. first serve.
