FULTON, Mo. - Westminster volleyball picked up its seventh straight win with a 3-0 sweep over Hannibal-La Grange.
The Blue Jays improve to 8-3 on the year while the Trojans fall to 1-11. Westminster hasn't lost a match since falling to Northwestern in Minnesota Sept. 3.
"It was a good night tonight," said Head Coach Curtis Madson. "We were able to get a lot of our girls time on the court. We are hoping this experience can help out going forward through the season."
The Blue Jays dominated the first two matches with double-digit wins on their way to winning 3-0. Westminster took the first match 25-15. In the second match, the Blue Jays allowed Hannibal-La Grange to score just nine points in the best defensive set the team has played all season.
The Trojans scrambled back in the third set in hopes of earning themselves a fourth match, but Westminster came back from some early mistakes to take the third set by a hair, 26-24.
"We served tough tonight, which creating a lot of favorable offensive situations for us and we capitalized on that," said Madson. The team totaled 12 aces on the night.
