St. Louis, MO, 9/27/21 – A lightning postponed game from two weeks ago was made up on Monday night in St. Louis.   The Blue Jays on short rest traveled to play their SLIAC rival the Webster University Gorloks. The men battled but could not overcome two first half goals by the Gorloks and would suffer their first conference loss of the season 3-0.  The loss drops the Blue Jays to 2-4-2 over all and 2-1-1 in the SLIAC.  The Gorloks improve to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in SLIAC play.

The Blue Jays had opportunities Monday night but just couldn't find the back of the net.  The Gorloks outshot the Blue Jays 16-12 overall and 8-5 in shots on goal.  The Blue Jays were awarded five corner kicks to Webster's one.  The Blue Jays were whistled for 16 fouls to Webster's 13.  Junior midfielder Collin Murray (St. Peters, Mo. / Fort Zumwalt West) led the Blue Jays offense with three shots and two shots on goal.  Sophomore goalkeeper Conner Benefield (Wentzville, MO / Timberland) played the whole game in goal and made five saves.

The Blue Jays will be back in action at home on Thursday September 30th when they take on the Spalding University Golden Eagles in a key SLIAC match-up.  The game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. kick off.
